NCSEF Registration Procedure:

  1. Schools, student participants, fair volunteers, and judges are to register at this site using the link on the left hand side of the webpage titled “Login/Register.” 
  2. If your school does not have a pre-qualifying fair, the student participant must have a teacher register and sponsor them. Only students that have been selected to move to the Regional Fair by their local school fair should register themselves.
    • If students are submitting their project as part of a team, only one team member should register them.
  3. Once registered in the system, students will be emailed their registration number to use to complete their online registration.
  4. After completing the online steps for registration, students must print and sign the “participant registration form” and all ISEF Forms, then mail the following items to complete final registration!  Forms and registration payment must be received by January 20, 2017.
  5. Students will be notified about their SRC approval via email.

NCSEF Mandatory Registration Materials:

NC Central Regional 3A Science & Engineering Fair:  This fair is an Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) Affiliate.  This means that all participants are required to submit the proper ISEF forms. Please use the Science Fair Rules Wizard to determine the forms that are needed to submit. For more information about which forms to submit, please view The ISEF Rules and GuidelinesThis fair requires students to have tri-fold boards for elementary, middle and high school students. 

  1. Forms 1, 1A, 1B, Research Plan, and Abstract.
    • Depending on the nature of the student project, additional special forms may be required. 
    • Following the ISEF Science Fair Form Wizard will show the forms needed.
  2. Participant registration form: this form will be created upon registration.
  3. Registration Fee: $30 per project
    • If mailing registration checks, please make payable to “Central Regional 3A Science & Engineering Fair"

NCSEF Judges:

We need your help to judge elementary, junior and senior projects from Durham, Granville, Wake, Vance, Warren, Johnston, Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Northampton, and Franklin counties.The Region 3A Science & Engineering Fair will be held Saturday, February 11, 2016 at Hillside High School in Durham and judges are needed from 8 am to 1 pmRequirements are a background in science and/or engineering and a desire to help students in the pursuit of these topics.  A brief orientation and judging rubrics (along with coffee and lunch) will be provided.  Each category will be evaluated by a team of judges.

NCSAS:

The District Level NCSAS Competition is scheduled on the same day as the NC Region 3A Science and Engineering Fair.  Students in grades 6-12 may participate in both events on the same day.  For more information and to register visit
